Scooter Cannot Tell a Lie (Well, This Time): The President Outed Valerie Plame
But already the talking GOP heads are claiming that it wasn't a crime to do so. (Despite the fact that leaking classified info is, which presumably had something to do with Bush's promise to deal harshly with anybody in his administration who did, whereupon Karl Rove disappeared under the waves, for a while, at least.) Rest assured, George, we, your people are too docile, distracted & just plain disinterested to have noticed.
Now we learn that the President & Veep can both declassify info at whim, news that reportedly shocked some in the higher, shadowy regions of intelligence & defense. Ergo, no crime was committed, & if there was, it was for a perfectly legitimate reason: to viciously discredit a critic of the Iraq war who was yet ANOTHER voice arguing that the intelligence was manipulated, & by exposing his wife.
We understand. Desperate times require desperate measures.
And, oh yeah, we DO believe that you're not doing anything unwarranted (pun unintended) with your domestic spying program.
Sincerely yours (don't arrest us in the middle of the night),
